On Memorial Day weekend, the eighth annual Chattanooga Street Food Festival is expected to bring around 15,000+ hungry visitors to the weekend-long food celebration. The festival is a two-day event, with Saturday being the primary Food Truck day.
“The Chattanooga Street Food Festival boasts a weekend-long gathering of the best food trucks and street food vendors from all over the region,” officials said. “These food-passionate individuals and teams of food-trucks come together in Chattanooga to celebrate a diversity of food that is uniquely theirs, one that Chattanoogans have grown to look forward to each year.”
Admission to the festival is free to patrons. Foodies will be eager to sample foods from several eateries and enjoy the street party which boasts live music and local brews. Performing on Saturday is Brad Jones (12:30 p.m.), a Chattanooga based rap/hip-hop artist and singer/songwriter and the Stratoblasters (2 p.m.), a local 70s-80s rock cover band.
Saturday, May 23: Part I, Food Trucks/Street Party
The first day of the festival will be 100 percent about food trucks and street food vendors at the First Tennessee Pavilion. Visitors can expect a wide diversity of cultural flavors and the largest gathering of food trucks in Chattanooga. (The site can fit 50+ trucks on Saturday). With trucks coming from Chattanooga, Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville and other nearby cities, festival goers will be eager to get their fill.
Saturday bonus for participants—the Chattanooga Football Club will be playing San Diego following the event (on the festival site) bringing more hungry visitors.
Sunday, May, 24: Part II, The Chattanooga Market
The festival continues as the Chattanooga Market simultaneously takes place at the First Horizon Pavilion, bringing in an additional 150+ vendors selling their produce and craft-wares—it is a lively day therefore space is limited. Thousands of visitors and locals come to the Chattanooga Market each Sunday and spring is the busiest time of the season! Currently, Sunday is limited and on an invitation only basis.
Chattanooga Market is opening registration up to food trucks to join the festival on Saturday. New and returning food trucks can register online: chattanoogamarket.com/streetfood/.
