Review: New Chattanooga restaurant Agave & Rye offers a tasty mix of food cultures

The corner of Chestnut Street at the Chattanooga Green on downtown’s waterfront is teeming with life again since Agave & Rye opened in the old Blue Plate Diner location.

The restaurant, the 10th for the Kentucky-based chain, is big, loud, colorful and bold. It’s a place packed with Millennials, with a few Boomers here and there for good measure, this one included.

Chattanooga Street Food Festival-Coming May 23-24; Opportunity For Local And Regional Food Trucks

On Memorial Day weekend, the eighth annual Chattanooga Street Food Festival is expected to bring around 15,000+ hungry visitors to the weekend-long food celebration. The festival is a two-day event, with Saturday being the primary Food Truck day.

“The Chattanooga Street Food Festival boasts a weekend-long gathering of the best food trucks and street food vendors from all over the region,” officials said. “These food-passionate individuals and teams of food-trucks come together in Chattanooga to celebrate a diversity of food that is uniquely theirs, one that Chattanoogans have grown to look forward to each year.”
