TEXARKANA, Texas — Panda Express is coming to Texarkana.

A large lot in front of Red Lobster on St. Michael Drive has been cleared and leveled. Utility support has been put in.

Actual construction on the Texarkana Panda Express should begin this fall. They aim for an opening date of mid-February 2022.

Established in 1983 and headquartered in Rosemead, California, most locations are franchise, described as “family owned.” The idea driving the menu of Panda Express is a “mashup, marrying Chinese origins and culinary principles with inspiration from American flavors and ingredients that appeal to a global palate.”

“Panda’s American Chinese cuisine is created based on insights and research from different regions of the U.S. and China. From there, our innovations become the first taste of Chinese food and gateway to Chinese culture for millions of Americans.,” said Lizzie Cloutier, Panda Express spokesperson.

“Panda Express’ vision for American Chinese food is to offer a variety of flavorful options that speak to our guests. At Panda, we are constantly innovating what American Chinese food is, offering comfort foods such as Orange Chicken while also incorporating options that taste good and feel good, like Grilled Teriyaki Chicken and Broccoli Beef,” Cloutier said.

“Our goal is to offer something delicious for everyone’s tastes and to create endless possibilities on one plate —whether you are craving something indulgent, one of our lighter menu options, or both. It’s all about balance and offering a variety of options to choose from.”
