Gourmet Chinese cuisine comes to Jeddah…
Things have gotten even more exciting at the stunning Shangri-La Jeddah with the opening of their signature Chinese restaurant, Shang Palace.
The hotel restaurant has become a brand in its own right with ambitious recipes, countless dim sum options, and a refined Chinese elegance ambience.
At Shang Palace Jeddah, flashy lacquered interiors infusing traditional Chinese motifs and Arabesque patterns make it feel like one is dining in a palace. Embracing the courtyard “siheyuan” houses, the spacious dining room is accented with dark wood and lattice panels.
A treasured legacy
Enjoy a curated experience of the pinnacle of Asian service and hospitality whilst indulging in a gourmet meal.
Shang Palace brings the art of soulful and modern Chinese cuisine to Jeddah with hand-crafted flavours that have been perfected for over half a century.
The restaurant menu curated by Executive Chef Keith Yeap takes guests on a journey through Sichuan, Yunnan and Cantonese cuisines. Traditional tastes are blended with local influences and modern techniques for a unique experience.
Set to become one of the restaurant’s signatures, don’t miss the chance to try the crispy-skin Peking duck roasted over fragrant plum wood chips in a glass-encased oven – a distinct feature of the restaurant.
Other must-haves include the colourful wagyu pastry puff dim sums, Shang Palace signature camel xiao long bao, crispy black truffle spring rolls, and the BBQ lamb ribs.
“My cooking philosophy includes instilling innovation and passion into every dish,” said Chef Keith, who boasts a distinguished career that includes several leading Chinese restaurants across Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Macau and Phnom Penh.
“The Shang Palace Jeddah experience will bring a unique and fresh experience into the city presenting a variety of bold dishes and a relentless high standard for quality ingredients and heartfelt hospitality.”
Game-changing mocktails
Another highlight to look out for is the unique selection of zero-proof cocktails served at your table or the juice bar whilst enjoying magical views of the Red Sea.
Asian-inspired beverages featuring innovative presentations to delight the eyes and the tastebuds include “The Forbidden Pearl” and “Lost in Time”, amongst one of Jeddah’s most inventive drinks menu.
“It is the perfect time to enter the growing and vibrant Jeddah dining scene with the Shang Palace brand,” says the restaurant’s general manager and award-winning mixologist, Sanjin Dilaver.
“We hope that guests will enjoy not only our unique food and beverage experience and the stunning environment but also an unforgettable journey that reflects the vitality and energy of this city”.
