Surf and turf is usually limited to a single dish on a restaurant menu, but at the newly opened Green Valley Smokehouse and Oyster Bar, it’s more like a theme.

The menu at Green Valley Smokehouse and Oyster Bar, now open in Denver, is equal parts surf and turf. The latter category includes smoked meat plates and sides like collard green and baked beans.
The restaurant opened April 26 at the Green Valley Golf Course near Denver International Airport, and the emphasis on smoked meats and seafood makes sense considering its parent company, Home Team Restaurant Group, specializes in both.
Home Team originated in Florida, where CEO Joe Adeeb worked at his family’s seafood establishments The Green Turtle and The Sea Turtle before transitioning into barbecue with the purchase of Bono’s Bar-B-Q in Jacksonville. (The company expanded the chain to Centennial in 2005.)
Green Valley Smokehouse and Oyster Bar brings both under one roof with menu items like brisket, pork and catfish sandwiches, smoked meat platters, fish-forward entrees and a raw oyster bar. Barbecue is smoked onsite, according to a statement.
The concept is a new one for Home Team and Denver is home to the first location, said Mark Parente, director of operations for Home Team Restaurant Group.
Green Valley Smokehouse and Oyster Bar is now open at 4900 Himalaya Road in Denver. Open Sunday through Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. 303-957-4096. greenvalleysmokehouse.com
