Jamaica Basic was a pedestrian paradise on Sunday, as much more than 1 mile of Centre Street shut down for the start of Open Streets Boston.
The town closed 1.2 miles of the important highway to motor auto website traffic, as the JP street was reworked to a website of loved ones-welcoming activities, reside artwork, songs, foods vehicles and extra.
“When streets are for people, the people today occur out!” Mayor Michelle Wu tweeted. “Thanks to all who labored so really hard for today’s 1st #OpenStreetsBoston on Centre — see you following thirty day period on Blue Hill Ave.”
The Blue Hill Avenue Open Streets Boston day will be on Aug. 6 among Warren Avenue and Dudley Street.
The 3rd Open up Streets Boston day will be on Sept. 24 together Dorchester Avenue, amongst Freeport Road and Gallivan Boulevard.
