Best Purées: Yumi
Why We Chose It: All of Yumi’s packaging—including the ice pack— is recyclable.
If you’re looking for blended baby food in a jar (rather than a pouch), Yumi has an array of options. Each jar is 100% fresh and organic, plus it contains no gluten, dairy, allergens, or added sugars. Orders arrive chilled (not frozen), and deliveries are available weekly, with several meal plans to choose from.
For babies aged four to six months, there are classic, one-ingredient purées (like beets, zucchini, or squash) created for first-time eaters. The “mashables” jars are designed for babies seven to nine months and have a wider variety of ingredients.
For this group, choose from blends like cauliflower soup (cauliflower, coconut milk, onion, Japanese sweet potato, garlic, thyme, and rosemary) or beat hummus (beets, chickpea, quinoa, lentil, and mint). In addition to the more than 40 types of blended baby food, Yumi also offers limited edition and holiday flavors.
The 10-month pack, for example, introduces a new jar flavor each week based on your baby’s stage of development and costs around $65 per week for 16 jars. Yumi also sells plans for toddlers that bundle more solid food products.
