Some Region 5 students will get the chance to have a say in what items appear on their school menus next year.

The Region 5 Education Service Center Cooperative is hosting its 22nd Annual Region 5 Food Service Coop Food Show, 1 to 5 p.m., Feb. 15 at the Beaumont Civic Center.

More than 1,000 Region 5 students, school administrators and campus food service staff will gather to taste the food of numerous vendors providing a wide array of potential cafeteria menu additions and will vote for their favorite items for the tasting contest.

The event is the largest of its kind in the state, showcasing food and beverage items for the districts that are a part of the cooperative, according to a news release.

The coop represents 41 Region 5 school districts and charter schools.
