An Upstate restaurant is closing and the owner says she is retiring. Anita’s Mexican Restaurant in Simpsonville has been in business for 37 years. This week, the owner announced she is retiring and closing the restaurant on Sunday. On Facebook the restaurant posted the following message: “After 37 years in Simpsonville, Anita has decided to retire. She says that her customers are loving and giving. Many have come back again and again over the years, building fond memories around this restaurant. Anita especially wants to thank her customers for their love and support over these last 37 years. She says, ‘It has been so rewarding to have shared our home-cooked Mexican food to each of you!’ Some of the restaurant’s employees have been with them for over 30 years! She also wants to ‘thank all our dedicated employees. Without them, we could not have survived all these years.’ Our closing date is Sunday, March 27, 2022.”
