Hello hello and welcome to this week’s Friday Faves.
It’s been quite the ladies’ week around here. I arrived home from my Charleston and Savannah girl’s trip with my mama and sister, ready to dive straight into the final stretch of mothering my daughter while I still can. This week she made her commitment to University of Oregon, we’re figuring out plans for her 18th birthday—which happens to be the same day as her high school graduation, taking her senior photos, and diving deep into the planning stages of her gap year travel plans for next year. Did I mention I want to take a family vacation asap too? And cook! Cook? Who has time to cook? Okay, you’re right. I always have time to cook!
Once home, it was comfort food I was craving so my husband made us this well-loved family classic pictured above. It always reminds me of home.
Mother’s Day is this weekend and I hope you’re celebrating or remembering your beloved mama. No present? No problem! A simple card works for mom too. Here’s what to write in your Mother’s Day card to best describe your love.
Orchids! Birds of Paradise! Succulents! These Lego sets will make any plant lover want to snap their blocks together.
While traveling in the award-winning restaurant territory of Savannah, we didn’t plan far enough in advance for dinner reservations at some of the most coveted restaurants in the U.S. That is, until I signed up for notifications on the reservation app Resy, where they send emails when day-of reservations become available. That’s how we scored dinner res at James Beard Award winner The Grey and skipped the 3-month long wait list.
