Tenterden FreeWheelin FEASTival, previously the Tenterden Food and Drink Festival, brings street food and artisan produce to town

Tenterden’s much-loved food and drink festival returns this year with a new name and a whole host of new cuisines.

The festival, rebranded for the first time this year as the Tenterden FreeWheelin FEASTival, will once again bring the best street food, bars, alfresco dining, live music and entertainment, artisan produce and arts and crafts stalls to the town’s recreation ground.

As Hurricane Laura makes landfall in Louisiana and Texas, keep an eye on the storm via this collection of webcams.

Laura, which was upgraded Wednesday to a Category 4 hurricane, is expected to make landfall near the southwestern border of Louisiana and the southeastern border of Texas sometime late Wednesday or early Thursday.

Hundreds of thousands of residents have been asked to evacuate their homes, as forecasters expect a storm surge of up to 20 feet, which they consider “unsurvivable.”

California bill aims to help street food vendors by changing retail code, streamlining permit process

LOS ANGELES — Southern California is known for its many street food vendors. A new bill moving through the state Legislature would make it easier for them to make a living.

SB 972 would change the food retail code so they’re able to get the proper health permits.

Merlin Alvarado works 12-hour days as a food street vendor. It’s how she has made a living for 16 years.

Fourth Street food truck idea hinges on Port Huron ZBA decision, lot owner says

An early concept for a food truck park at Fourth and Water streets in downtown Port Huron is shown. Property owner Scott Beedon said he hopes to make room for one food truck this summer after a ZBA approval on May 2.

Long-term plans to build out a small food truck court at Fourth and Water streets downtown may hang on a decision from Port Huron’s zoning board of appeals Monday, according to the site’s owner.
