New Asheville sushi restaurant, Miyako House, sets opening date

ASHEVILLE – A downtown Asheville building that’s been home to Fiore’s Italian and Korean House restaurants will reopen this week with a new tenant, an Asian steakhouse and sushi restaurant.

Miyako House will open for lunch and dinner Feb. 20 at 122 College St., serving a vast menu of pan-Asian food including hibachi filet mignon, Thai curries, Chinese dishes, teriyaki plates and noodles.

There are four partners in the business, including husband-and-wife managing partners Raymond Li and Jessica Gao.

Gao said her husband has worked as sushi chef for more than 15 years and has a depth of experience
